SEG - Smart Economic Growth
Text only

What is SEG?
Many regions in North West Europe enjoy high rates of economic growth but also experience negative consequences of this success, such as acute pressures on land, labour and other resources, skills shortages, traffic congestion and other environmental impacts.

SEG's seven partners represent some of the most highly developed areas of the EU - South East England, the central Netherlands, the Flemish authorities encircling Brussels and the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region of Germany. Together they will examine how smarter development and land use, combined with smarter ways of working, can support continued growth, whilst improving the quality of life and the environment in Europe's high growth regions.

SEG will define the elements of smart economic growth, and explore the policies and practical approaches required to implement it more effectively across North West Europe. It will not only benefit those currently searching for ways to grow smartly but will also help emerging growth areas avoid the same problems in the future.
